Marketing for bathroom remodelers in Tampa Bay

Tampa Bay is not one market. The metro spreads across Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco and Hernando counties, from Tampa and Brandon to St. Petersburg, Clearwater and Wesley Chapel, with the bay itself in the middle. A homeowner in St. Pete thinks of a Tampa remodeler as being across the bridge, and the daily traffic on those bridges makes them right.

That shapes everything from ad targeting to scheduling. The remodelers who win here usually pick a side of the bay, show their state license up front and call new leads back while the homeowner is still thinking about the project.

What to plan around in Tampa Bay

Pick a side of the bay
The Howard Frankland, Gandy and Courtney Campbell bridges connect Tampa with Pinellas County, and rush-hour traffic on them can turn a short distance into a long drive. Target the side of the bay your crews actually work, or run separate campaigns for each side, so consults and job sites stay close together.
Flood zones after 2024
Hurricanes Helene and Milton in 2024 brought storm surge and flooding to parts of the metro, especially along the Pinellas coast. In flood zones, the 50% rule for substantial improvements can apply when work reaches half of a home's value, and local building departments enforce it. Know which ZIP codes in your area are affected before quoting a full remodel there.
Older homes and older homeowners
Much of Pinellas County, and older parts of Tampa, is built up with mid-century homes, and the region has many retirees. Tub-to-shower conversions, walk-in showers with grab bars and wider doorways are common requests. Showing those projects in your ads speaks directly to a large part of the market.
Condos and HOAs
Condo buildings and HOA communities are common around the bay, and many require approval, proof of license and proof of insurance before work starts. Ask about it on the first call, and mention in your ads that you handle the paperwork. It is a real worry for homeowners in those buildings.

Tampa Bay questions, answered.

Should I target all of Tampa Bay or one side of it?

Usually one side, at least to start. Drive times across the bridges add up, and a tight service area keeps your schedule workable. On Google, target the ZIP codes you want. On Facebook and Instagram, home-repair ads must cover at least a 15-mile radius, so center them on the towns you serve.

Do I need a permit for a bathroom remodel in Tampa Bay?

Work that moves plumbing or electrical, or changes walls, generally needs a permit from the city or county building department, and each one in the metro runs its own process. Check with the department for the address before you quote, especially in flood zones.

Are you working with remodelers in Tampa Bay?

Yes. Tampa Bay is one of the first markets we are focused on, and we work with one remodeler per metro area. We are taking our first clients for a January 2027 pilot.
